While the company was able to weather the financial crisis, the global recession took a bigger toll on NCLH, which was forced to shut down three of its brands in the US. As the economy improves, Norwegian Cruise Lines Holdings (NCLH) has found an opportunity to reintroduce its brands to the North American market. While the NCLH can be found in over 100 destinations, they are are best known for their European itineraries.
The NCLH cruise line has a number of brands and lines, including NCLH, Explorer, and Pearl. In its most recent earnings call, NCLH noted that three of its brands/lines, which it did not name, will be restarting operations outside the US. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. will resume overseas operations this summer with its three brands.
Oceania Cruises will resume flights to Scandinavia and Western Europe from August, while Regent Seven Seas Cruises will operate from the UK from September.
In addition, Norwegian Cruise Line is continuing the gradual relaunch of Mediterranean cruises on Norwegian Epic and Norwegian Getaway in September. The airline has already announced routes in the Caribbean and Europe for July and August.
All maiden voyages will have fully vaccinated guests and crew members, in addition to SailSAFE’s health and safety program, which includes universal testing for COVID-19 before boarding.
