At first glance, the Quantum Encounter is the smallest of Disney’s immersion rigs, but it has a few tricks up its sleeve. A 40-inch projection screen, it’s also one of the “most energy-efficient” systems—it uses a lot less power than a regular screen, but still uses it well, and doesn’t have lead-based lamps. In addition, the Quantum Encounter encourages you to attach your own waterproof headphones and personal devices and to put them in the pod, which doesn’t have a speaker.

It’s been a busy year for Disney World – what with the new Star Wars area and the high-tech Disney Skyliner gondolas. But just wait until next year: the Walt Disney World Resort will be adding a very cool attraction to its lineup.

Disney Cruise Line is continuing to provide more information about its next new cruise ship, the Disney Wish. This includes a new “Avengers: Quantum Encounter” in the Worlds of Marvel restaurant, which will premiere aboard the new cruise ship once it is operational.

Disney Wishes Gets a New Marvel Experience

When it comes to entertainment, there’s no question that Marvel is in high demand, and that offering will only get better when the new Disney Wish cruise ship arrives in summer 2022. The “Avengers: Quantum Encounter” at Worlds of Marvel restaurant has been unveiled by the cruise company.

The eatery was first announced by Disney in April 2021, but now visitors may truly join in on the fun. In an Avengers mission that develops around the visitors, there will be participatory role-playing. The Marvel Cinematic Universe will be the inspiration for the menu.

Walt Disney Imagineering’s senior creative director, Danny Handke, said:

“‘Avengers: Quantum Encounter’ is the most ambitious dining experience Disney Cruise Line has ever created. We’re creating a unique Avengers experience that will immerse our customers in the action via advanced technology and creative narrative, which has never been done before in a restaurant. It’s the ideal complement to the Disney Wish’s amazing story-driven dining menu.”

The Wasp and Ant-Man will be at the heart of the interactive event, hoping to impress their other Avengers. Guests will get up up and personal with holographic models, field reports, and classic scenarios using key Avengers tech like Captain America’s shield, Iron Man’s arc reactor, and Ant-Pym Man’s Particles.

The mission will, as anticipated, take a turn, with courageous diners onboard the Disney Wish being called upon to help rescue the day from a villain. Each table will include an interactive Quantum Core that will shrink and expand objects as part of the “Avengers: Quantum Encounter.” To make the event lively and engaging, the whole Worlds of Marvel restaurant will come alive with lighting and effects.

Guests will be treated to a unique cuisine at the event, which is currently being developed but will include dishes inspired by Wakanda, Eastern European Sokovia, and the Avengers’ home base of New York City.

There’ll be much more dining to look forward to in the future.

Aside from the Avengers: Quantum Encounter, Disney Cruise Line has revealed a few other locations around the new Disney Wish.

The Marceline Market, named after Walt Disney’s boyhood home in Missouri, will be present. The local owners will be Disney characters, and there will be ten food booths in this area. There will be both indoor and outdoor dining with breathtaking views of the sea.

It will be a food court-style experience with snack and more informal walk-up eating choices available throughout the day.

The Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods will be located on the top decks. This location will be open for the most of the day, including lunch and supper. Ice cream, quick-service barbecue, and Mexican-inspired options are available to guests.
