Despite clear weather and calm seas, the Norwegian Bliss continues to run into delays in its voyage back to Norway. The final destination of the cruise ship is Bremen, Germany.

The “norwegian cruise line cancellations 2021” is a problem that has been present for a while. Norwegian Cruise Line has delayed the restart of five ships and cancelled more sailings due to mechanical issues with the vessels.

Norwegian Delays Restart For Five Ships, Cancels More Sailings

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the cancellation of three forthcoming trips and the postponement of the return of five additional ships.

What Ships Will Be Cancelled?

The current Norwegian Pearl voyage and the Norwegian Getaway cruise scheduled for Wednesday were both canceled on Tuesday. The Pearl, which was two days into an 11-day voyage, started returning to Miami in order to offload passengers.

Norwegian’s “primary concern is the health and safety of our passengers, crew, and the communities we visit,” according to a letter sent to travel partners and their guests on Wednesday. We’ve had to adjust a few sailings and, sadly, have had to cancel the following cruises due to continued travel restrictions.”

There were two sorts of sailings that were affected.

The following five ships will have their planned returns pushed back to the following dates:

  • Norwegian Sky, which was supposed to relaunch on January 24, will instead do so on March 2, 2022, from Miami, Florida.
  • The Pride of America, which was supposed to relaunch on January 24, will instead do so on March 5, 2022, from Honolulu, Hawaii.
  • Norwegian Star, which was supposed to relaunch on January 16, will instead do so on April 3, 2022, from Barcelona, Spain.
  • Norwegian Sun, which was supposed to relaunch on January 28 from Hong Kong, will instead do so on May 5, 2022, from Seattle, Washington.
  • Norwegian Spirit, which was supposed to relaunch on February 24, will instead do so on May 7, 2022, departing Tahiti.

In addition, numerous sailings on three ships that had previously returned to operation would be canceled owing to “COVID related situations,” according to the company. Those ships will now resume operation on the following dates:

  • The next sailing date for the Norwegian Getaway is January 14th, departing from Miami, Florida.
  • The next sail date for the Norwegian Pearl is January 17th, also departing Miami, Florida.
  • Norwegian Jade, the first Norwegian ship to begin cruising from Greece in July, will take a break until March 30 before returning to Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy.

On certain sailings, all passengers will get an immediate full refund in the mode of payment supplied at the time of registration, as well as a bonus Future Trip Certificate good for a future cruise.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings companies were among the first to return to the cruise business, requiring all guests, whatever of age, to be completely vaccinated. Norwegian is now checking all passengers at the dock and expects to do so until February 28.

Norwegian does not compel customers to conduct a self-test at home at this time, but it does encourage it in order to prevent arriving at the dock only to find out they are unable to embark.

Guests should contact their travel agent or the cruise company for information on refunds and compensation.
