Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that it is the first cruise line to adopt blockchain for their collection of NFTs. The company hopes this will be a new way to interact with guests and provide them unique experiences without having to worry about long lines or other tedious parts of travel.
Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed the industry’s first crypto NFT collection. The collection includes a limited edition series of six coins, each representing one of the six celebrity ships.
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the introduction of the cruise industry’s first collection of NFTs, which will take them into the Metaverse. If you’re unfamiliar with the term “non-fungible token,” it refers to a sort of digital art that is a component of the Ethereum cryptocurrency network.
To commemorate the forthcoming debut of its first Prima-class ship, Norwegian Prima, the cruise company will auction and sell a collection of six NFTs. The NFTs will be on sale on Norwegian’s soon-to-be-launched online NFT marketplace on April 13 at 9 a.m. eastern time.
Manuel Di Rita, often known as “Peeta,” the Italian artist who designed the hull art aboard Norwegian Prima and her sister ship Norwegian Viva, produced the NFT art works for Norwegian Cruise Line.

The first of the six pieces will go up for auction at a starting price of $2,500, with the other NFTs selling for $250. The auction winner will also get a balcony stateroom on one of Norwegian Prima’s debut journeys to the United States, which will depart from PortMiami.
The first item in the NFT collection is reminiscent of the Norwegian Prima’s hull art. The last five exhibit some of Peeta’s 3D creations, which will be on display aboard Norwegian Prima, including in the ship’s three-story atrium.

Teach For America will get 100% of the revenues from the NFT auction and sales. The non-profit organization seeks for, develops, and supports a network of leaders who fight to enhance opportunities for children in classrooms, schools, and every industry and area that influences how schools run.
NCL President and CEO Harry Sommer commented, “We are extremely delighted to work with Peeta on this first for our brand and for the industry.” “Peeta is a gifted artist who has brought the enchantment and beauty of the sea to our ships,” says the company. “We are delighted to share this with our passengers and to give the earnings of this new enterprise to Teach For America, an organization and cause close to our hearts.”
The Norwegian Prima will set sail from Reykjavik, Iceland, on her first journey in August. She will then begin sailings to northern Europe from Amsterdam in September, as well as Caribbean cruises from Galveston, Miami, and Orlando on October 27.
