Today in Queens, executives from Genting, which owns the hotel and casino, and Hyatt, as well as local political officials and community leaders, cut the ribbon on the Hyatt Regency JFK Airport at Resorts World New York. The hotel is now open to the public, allowing visitors to enjoy New York City’s newest play, stay, eat, shop, and be entertained location.
At Resorts World New York, the Hyatt Regency JFK Airport is an eight-story luxury hotel with 400 residential-inspired guestrooms and premium suites with energetic decor and smart in-room technology. The hotel also has a fitness facility, state-of-the-art conference and meeting rooms, and more gaming areas, as well as the world-famous Sugar Factory Restaurant. The property’s highlight is a towering grand lobby that links the hotel to Resorts World New York City (RWNYC), which opened in 2011. It’s ideal for art exhibitions, concerts, and musical performances.
What’s Hot Right Now
The inauguration of this world-class hotel in New York City is the perfect way to commemorate Resorts World’s tenth anniversary, according to Bob DeSalvio, President of Genting Americas East. “It’s a pleasure to work with Hyatt, and we’re ecstatic to welcome visitors from all over the globe and offer them with a genuinely unforgettable casino resort experience in the heart of Manhattan. While the hotel has always been a part of our plan, today’s ribbon cutting has added importance as we honor the Queens neighborhood and contribute to New York’s progress.”
“We are excited to debut Hyatt Regency JFK Airport at Resorts World New York and invite guests to experience our intuitive hospitality as they relax and recharge after a day of gaming, dining, and entertainment,” said Brian Reynolds, Senior Vice President of Resorts World New York City. “Working with our Resorts World team, we’re pleased to deliver on an innovative and seamless experience that is sure to energize travelers.”
275 king rooms, 91 double rooms, and 34 suites are among the hotel’s 400 rooms. Because of its accessible location near JFK Airport, the range of rooms is perfect for both business and pleasure visitors. With kitchenettes and separate living areas, the spacious apartments are intended to make visitors feel at ease. Many of the stylish bedrooms have floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the cityscape.
The casino has 6,500 slot machines and computerized table games. Times Square Casino, Fifth Avenue Casino, and Central Park Casino, as well as numerous high-limit rooms, are all part of Resorts World New York City.
The $400 million hotel and facilities investment has long been a cornerstone of Genting’s plan to create a destination resort to New York City, similar to those seen in Las Vegas and Singapore. The resort incorporates a range of non-gaming facilities to complement the resort’s cutting-edge gaming and entertainment offerings, providing visitors of various interests and budgets with an experience tailored to their preferences.
Genting invested more than $700 million to upgrade the existing Aqueduct grandstand to make it a premier entertainment destination, bringing the total investment in Resorts World New York City to almost $1.1 billion. The hotel expansion has resulted in the creation of hundreds of well-paying jobs for New Yorkers, as well as increased income for the New York State Lottery Education Fund. Resorts World New York City has already contributed over $3 billion to the city’s public schools.
Events and Meetings
Beyond redefining the hotel experience for leisure guests, the new hotel offers a high-touch meeting and event experience, with 5,000 square feet of total function space and state-of-the-art meeting facilities, all backed by a dedicated team providing meeting planners with a seamless, confident service for themselves and their attendees. Corporate meetings, art exhibitions, and community activities are among the events that may be held in the rooms. The resort will now feature over 64,000 square feet of event space, including Resorts World New York City.
Sugar Factory, the world-renowned café and confectionary shop, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Its signature menu items include decadent milkshakes and old-fashioned sundaes. Guests can also enjoy additional food and beverage options including a convenient Grab n’ Go. Regency Club guests can enjoy daily continental breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres and light snacks at this exclusive club.
