LATAM has a new status match offer.

Over the last several months, status match offers have been plentiful and aggressive, ranging from Royal Air Maroc (for oneworld status) to ANA (for Star Alliance) to ITA (for SkyTeam).
Airlines have been striving to beef up their premium ranks once travel resumes. They achieve this in a variety of ways, including stealing clients from rivals. It’s difficult to attract a consumer who is used to receiving VIP service and then expect them to begin with your company from the bottom. Giving them a simple way to switch is logical.
It also attracts a large number of clients who are unlikely to return. When travelling domestically, I matched to Royal Air Maroc Gold, which grants me access to American Airlines club lounges — including Flagship lounges.
Another airline has now joined the fight. Customers’ status will be matched with any other frequent flyer program operated by a regional airline.
- The promotion is expected to extend through May 12th.
- They’ll match like-for-like until they reach Black rank. When applying for the LATAM Pass VISA credit card from Banco de Bogotá or Banco de Occidente after the match, you may request to be raised up a status level. Clearly, this isn’t simply a ploy for flyers, but also for clients of cobrand credit cards.
- Within 3 business days, status upgrades should be accepted, and then completed within 6 business days.
- The status will last until March 31, 2023.
- Residents of Colombia are eligible, thus you must specify a Colombian address on your LATAM account.
This is another status match offer from StatusMatch.com, this time as’status match as a service’ from Malaysia Airlines’ former CEO Enrich. This platform has already hosted matches for Air Canada and Frontier Airlines, among others.
One thing to be aware of, however: as a consequence, they’ve amassed a sizable database of status match requests. I wouldn’t submit Air Canada elite status earned via one of their matches, for example, since they’ll know you didn’t earn it.
LATAM is no longer a member of the Oneworld airline alliance. It exited the alliance as part of a new partnership with Delta, which includes Delta owning an interest in the airline. It is also not a SkyTeam member. Those who will really utilize the status for LATAM travel will be most interested in this. However, certain perks apply to Delta, Aeromexico, Iberia, Qantas, and Qatar flights.
Upgrades, lounge access, priority check-in and boarding, additional luggage allowance, and same-day confirmed changes are all included in the Black level of status.
