The announcement comes as many cruise lines have recently unveiled new cruises in the UK. The country is one of the few in the world to have given the green light for safe return. However, they will only call at the British Isles or sail to nowhere.
MSC Virtuosos is making her debut in UK waters this summer. The first flight will take place on the 20th. May 2021 for launch from Southampton, England.
This trip will be the first of a series of mini cruises of 3 and 4 nights before departing on the 12th. A 7-night cruise begins in June. MSC’s new cruise ship departs from England and Scotland for week-long stays.

Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises, said:
We are incredibly proud to offer British guests of all ages our brand new ship, the MSC Virtuosa, for their summer holiday. I am sure they will have a great time on board with all that this incredibly innovative ship has to offer as well as some protected excursions in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
We also look forward to the day when the current restrictions on international travel to the UK are lifted and we can once again welcome British visitors on board our ships in the Mediterranean and other parts of the world that we know they enjoy visiting.
The first mini cruises have a late departure from the port of Southampton. The ship will call at the island of Portland in Dorset, on the south coast of England, and spend two days at sea.
The seven-night offer includes several departure ports, including Liverpool and Greenock, and visits to Portland and Belfast.
These will be the first cruises for MSC Virtuosa, which was delivered just in February and is one of the most modern vessels in the fleet. It even has its first humanoid robot bartender!
MSC Virtuosa, sister ship of MSC Grandiosa, has a gross tonnage of 181,000 tons and a capacity of over 4,800 double rooms. There are 10 restaurants, 21 bars, a 112-metre long Mediterranean promenade, five swimming pools, including a large Magrod pool, and a 1,000m² water park.

Since the cruises of the 17th century. May be completely green, many cruise lines have already announced plans to offer domestic cruises in the UK. The country was one of the first in the world to allow mass cruises this summer, and the decision comes as other key cruise markets in Canada, the US, Australia and much of Europe are on hold.
P&O Cruises will offer vaccinated customers a summer holiday from June, and the same goes for Cunard Line, Viking Cruises, Princess Cruises and others. However, MSC will be one of the few airlines to accept non-accredited guests. Disney’s new UK departures should also allow non-accredited guests, given their focus on children and families.
Cruise ports in the British Isles will be busy this summer as the country returns from a difficult year of closures. Let’s wait and see if the U.S. and the CDC keep this in mind to allow cruises to resume in that area.
