MSC Cruises took delivery of its first Seaside EVO-Class ship today, one of the five highly advanced vessels that will result in the company’s fleet of luxury cruise ships being 90% electric by 2022. The new vessel is the second to bear the name of MSC Seaside, following the delivery of the first ship last year.
MSC Cruises has taken delivery of the first of its new MS SeaLink-class vessels and has renamed it the MSC Seaside EVO after the company’s subsidiary MSC Seaside, which operates one of the largest fleets of EVO-class ships in the world. With the first of the new ships now registered and sailing, MSC Cruises has now made good on its plans to roll out production of its first EVO class ships, which are the first ships ever to utilize a new construction technique that embeds the engine in the hull, reducing its weight even more than the earlier EVO-Class vessels (by over 40 percent).

MSC Cruises has received delivery of its new flagship MSC Seashore is a company that specializes in providing services to from Fincantieri, an Italian shipyard. It’s the fast-growing cruise line’s 19th ship, and the second new ship in 2021.

The new flagship was delivered at the Fincantieri Monfalcone shipyard in Italy, and the transfer was conducted in a private ceremony. MSC Cruises Executive Chairman Pierfrancesco Vago, as well as numerous employees, families, Giampiero Massolo, and Giuseppe Bono, Chairman and CEO of Fincantieri, were in attendance.

At the same time, its commissioning activates a critical economic and employment driver for coastal towns and beyond, providing a substantial annual economic benefit for the tourist industry.”
MSC Seashore is one of the most technologically sophisticated ships in the fleet, with hybrid exhaust gas cleaning systems, wastewater treatment systems, and other advanced environmental features. The ship is the first vessel of the Seaside EVO=class, which is an evolution of the Sease-class.

MSC Seashore is a 170,400-ton ship with a maximum capacity of 5,877 passengers and 1,648 crew members. The ship has a total of 2,270 staterooms. Six swimming pools, 11 eating venues, 19 bars and lounges, a 1,772 ft. waterfront promenade close to the sea, the biggest MSC Yacht Club in the fleet, and a massive New York-themed piazza with an astounding 10,452 sq. ft. of area over three decks are among the onboard amenities.
Kaito Sushi will feature the first conveyor belt in the fleet, while Butcher’s Cut steakhouse will offer al fresco eating.

MSC Seashore will make its Mediterranean premiere, with 13,000 square meters of outdoor area. From the ports of Genoa and Naples, stops will be made to Pompeii and Messina in Sicily, Valletta, Malta, Barcelona, Spain, and Marseille, France.
The new MSC cruise ship will set sail from Genoa on an 18-night repositioning trip to North America on October 312. On November 30, 2021, the ship will begin seven-night voyages from Miami, Florida.
