It will be the first luxury cruise ship to be launched by the MSC Cruises brand. MSC Cruises will be launching the MSC Divina at the world’s 7th largest shipbuilding yard in Dubai. Christening of MSC Virtuosa

MSC Cruises has for many years established a reputation as a leader in the Gulf cruise industry. The decision to hold the traditional christening ceremony in Dubai, prior to her maiden voyage and golf season, speaks for itself.

The MSC Virtuosa was only delivered in February this year and was the first ship to be launched in the UK with Cruise Hive’s involvement. The christening will take place during an event attended by representatives of the global tourism industry and media.

The ceremony is part of a partnership between MSC Cruises, Dubai Tourism, DP World and Emirates Airlines, as well as the UAE’s Golden Jubilee programme to celebrate the country’s 50th anniversary, which will include numerous events throughout the country.

We are incredibly proud and honoured that the christening of our flagship and masterpiece MSC Virtuosa will take place in one of the world’s most desirable destinations, Dubai. Coinciding with the region’s first World Expo, Dubai’s 50th anniversary year is a true tribute to Dubai as one of the most popular destinations for travellers from around the world. I am very pleased that the cruise has played and continues to play an important role in this area. I would also like to thank the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce, DP World and Emirates Airline for their partnership and support in organising this event.

Following the christening, the ship will be launched on November 28 for her maiden voyage through the Persian Gulf with stops in Abu Dhabi, Sir Bani Yas, Dammam in Saudi Arabia and Doha in Qatar.
