Hotel Esencia continues its multimillion-dollar investment in the new building in Santo Domingo.

It’s been a busy week for Hotel Esencia, the luxury hotel in downtown San Juan that is being developed by the team behind Hotel El Conquistador, the world’s most expensive hotel according to Travel + Leisure Magazine. The team has announced a multimillion-dollar investment that will further improve the property when it opens at the end of next year.

Over the past year, Hotel Esencia has continued to receive multimillion-dollar investments. In February 2017, Hotel Esencia announced it had received an investment from Solidus Hotels & Resorts, a Japanese investment firm. In July 2017, it was announced that Esencia had been purchased by the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ. In December 2017, another Japanese investment firm, Seiren Corporation, was named the new owner.

Hotel Esencia in Riviera Maya continues to improve, with two new suite types, increasing the total number of rooms and villas to 45, a brand-new tennis court and pavilion, and other noteworthy improvements around the resort.

Following the popularity of last year’s new Rooftop Wellness Suites, Hotel Esencia has attempted to enhance the guest experience even more with the introduction of two additional suite categories this month: the Esencia Suite and Master Jungle Suites. Both suite types will enhance the entire experience by providing greater room as well as views of the Xpu Ha beach (pronounced “shpooo-ha” by locals) and adjacent Mexican rainforest.

The Esencia Suite, situated on the north wing of the historic Main House structure, will be the hotel’s new crown gem, with over 1,200 square feet of interior space and over 1,400 square feet of private patio area. The suite has an 860-square-foot private rooftop terrace, a large master bedroom and domed sitting area, and a light-filled master bathroom with a double bathtub and steam shower, all with views of Xpu Ha. There’s also an outside dining area, the property’s biggest private plunge pool, a huge lounge and sitting space with three walls of windows facing the beach (equipped with a Peloton), and a second guest bathroom.

The Esencia Suite may be customized to accommodate bigger parties and families by converting the lower-level den into a guest bedroom.

The Master Jungle Suites will have multiple indoor and outdoor seating areas with views of the surrounding luscious jungle, a grand master bedroom, and a spacious master bathroom with double bathtubs and an optional steam shower to match, with over 1,000 square feet of indoor space and over 500 square feet of private outdoor space. These suites may be modified to meet the requirements of each party, with an extra independent room that can be used as an additional bedroom, living room, or office space, depending on the needs of the guests. A private plunge pool overlooks the forest vegetation in the Master Jungle Suites.

Both suite categories have all of Hotel Esencia’s trademark amenities, as well as big screen Wi-Fi linked TVs, air conditioning, sound systems, and other digital accessories, as do all of the hotel’s rooms.

With the addition of its Tennis Court and Pavilion, Hotel Esencia continues its path as a fitness and health haven. All guest accommodations are within a short stroll of this high-quality open space. It will premiere on September 13th.

There’s more to see at Hotel Esencia, including the renovated Villa Yum Ha, which now has four bedrooms, and three new Master Suites that will open in October.
