Cunard Line has followed the lead of its sister companies P&O Cruises and Princess Cruises in announcing new cruises in the UK with coastal holidays.

Cunard Line offers flights with accommodation in the UK

Cunard is offering British cruises from Southampton to Queen Elizabeth Island this summer. More details on the routes will be announced later in March 2021. The ship will sail in British coastal waters where only British residents can enjoy the glorious British sun!

Simon Palethorpe, chairman of Cunard, said:

With the UK government confirming that the end of domestic travel is near, we are offering a range of shorter holiday experiences for UK residents looking for the perfect holiday in Cunard luxury this summer.

These are crossings from Southampton, for UK residents, around the UK and they will enjoy the best summer sunshine.

Routed routes must be re-routed

Despite all the excitement about the new British cruises, there is also a downside: The regular international sailing trips that were planned for this summer have to be cancelled.

Palethorpe added:

However, due to international travel restrictions we have unfortunately had to cancel a number of excursions. We know how desperate everyone is after a dismal holiday abroad. To all those affected by this news, I am truly sorry for the disappointment this will cause.

These are the sails that are cast:

  • Sailings on the Queen Victoria are now available for sailings through the 27th. August 2021 deleted.
  • The Queen Elizabeth’s summer Mediterranean cruise season and all sailings through the 11th. October 2021 have been cancelled.
  • The Queen Mary 2’s current schedule is dependent on a number of factors and all sailings through November 12, 2021 have been cancelled.

Departing guests will receive compensation for the cancelled cruise in the form of a future cruise credit (FCC) of 125%. The credit can be used for any future cruise at the time of transfer until the end of December 2021. If customers do not wish to take future cruises with Cunard, they can also request a full refund.

Revival of UK cruise industry

A number of UK cruise lines are announcing new adult-only cruises for this summer, following the government’s decision to ban cruises for over-17s. Domestic cruises will be allowed in May 2021.

Looks like it: Domestic cruises in the UK can start from 17. The month of May will resume.

Now that a date has been set, it means that cruise lines can plan for the year and start preparing ships. Of course, strict health measures are taken to ensure the safety of guests and crew.

The UK cruise industry will be the first in the world to officially relaunch on a large scale. Let us hope that the United States will follow our example.
