Oceania Cruises has broken its record for the number of bookings in a single day. The record was set when the airline announced its latest collection of itineraries for the winters of 2022 and 2023.

This record is a testament to the pent-up demand for cruises and clearly shows that people still have faith in the cruise industry.

Extreme demand for long and exotic cruises

3. March 2021. Oceania Cruises has released its 2022-2023 collection for sale. Anyone who thinks that the long and adventurous cruise market is a thing of the past is sadly mistaken.

Oceania Cruises offers a collection of 127 itineraries ranging from 7 to 77 days in Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, the Caribbean, South America and the Pacific.

The cruise line’s bestsellers were routes to Asia, Africa and South America. Similar results were achieved by the Caribbean and Australia and New Zealand with a 35-day trip around Australia at Christmas and New Year becoming a best-seller.

All in all, all of these voyages combined were a record day for Oceania Cruises, as the line is the third largest cruise operator in the world. March saw the highest number of bookings in a single day in its 18-year history.

In response, Bob Binder, president and CEO of Oceania Cruises, believes that luxury cruise enthusiasts are looking to book even further in advance:

The huge wave of bookings we saw on the opening day of sales of our new 2022 and 2023 itineraries illustrates the extraordinary demand for long and exotic cruises. High-end travelers want to explore the world again and book their tickets well in advance to fulfill their travel dreams.

Oceania shows potential

It was a positive year in terms of revenue for the second cruise line in NCLH’s portfolio. In February this year, the airline announced that its 180-day world cruise had already sold out on the first day of sales. In addition, 20% of world cruisers chose to extend their trip to a total of 218 days.

In addition to its tropical, exotic and world cruise collections, the cruise line has shown exceptional interest in its European and North American travel collections for 2022.

In response to this high level of interest, the airline also announced that it would put its spring, summer and fall flights to Europe and North America on sale starting in September 2023.

Interest in Oceania Cruises has steadily increased in recent months. This may be because many cruise passengers are looking for a more intimate and less crowded option.

It is quite possible that in the years to come smaller ships with more space and less clutter will sail.
