New details on Mardi Gras
Pizza has always been an important part of the Carnival cruise experience, and since today is National Pizza Day, the cruise line has now revealed new details about the Italian-themed Piazza, which is one of six Mardi Gras themed areas.
This beautiful new district will feature an array of new food and beverage venues as well as old carnival favorites. The space mimics Italian streets with matching decor and red accents.

There are fun things to see along the boardwalk: guests can take a selfie next to a Vespa scooter and a Fiat, both from 1972, the year of the original Mardi Gras and the founding of Carnival Cruise Line.
Bar della Rosa
The new bar, decorated in classic Italian style, will offer cocktails such as Aperol Spritz. There will be Italian wines from different regions of Italy, Italian beer and even Italian Lavazza coffee.

Cucina del Capitano
Although it can be found on other Carnival cruise ships, Mardi Gras will be the largest. La Cucina del Capitano will offer an impressive menu as an Italian-inspired restaurant. Decorations will include historic photos and memorabilia of Carnival officers.
The pizzeria is always a must during the Carnival cruise and, in keeping with this tradition, the Pizzeria del Capitano will be open 24 hours a day. Guests can enjoy freshly baked homemade pizzas, both tart and sliced.
