Carnival Cruise Line’s Tampa, Florida, terminal reopened on July 2nd after being idled since early January. The port will be the only departure point for Carnival Pride until November 22nd when it is expected to resume its usual schedule.

The “carnival cruise cancellations 2021” is a topic that has been trending on the internet. Carnival Cruise Line has announced that they will be restarting operations in Tampa, Florida with their new ship, the Carnival Pride.

Carnival Cruise Line celebrated the return of passenger operations from Tampa, Florida, today with the sailing of Carnival Pride, the most recent stage in the company’s successful post-pandemic recovery. Carnival Pride will be the brand’s lone ship operating from the Gulf Coast port for the time being, but Carnival Paradise will join her in March 2022.

Carnival organized a “Back to Fun” event in the Port of Tampa on Sunday to honor the occasion. The ship’s first COVID-era passengers were personally welcomed on board by Carnival Vice President of Guest Operations Sarah Beth Reno, Carnival Pride Captain Rino Costanzo, and Port Tampa Bay Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Raul Alfonso.

“It gives us great pleasure to welcome Carnival Cruise Line back to Port Tampa Bay today. The reintroduction of cruising will have a wide-ranging influence on our area, with many local companies benefiting. Onshore expenditure by passengers and personnel onboard a ship like the Carnival Pride is projected to be $334,000 each visit “Port Tampa Bay senior vice president and chief commercial officer Raul Alfonso stated.

“We’ve been a proud member of the Tampa community for more than 25 years, having been the first cruise line to sail from Tampa in 1994,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “We’re absolutely thrilled to provide our guests with an opportunity to get ‘Back to Fun’ from the port while supporting the local economy.”

In 1994, Carnival launched the first year-round cruise program from Tampa, carrying 28,000 passengers each year. Since then, the cruise line’s passenger capacity has risen ninefold, making it one of the region’s major cruise operators.

Carnival will continue to bring more ships back into service over the following weeks and months, until all 22 of its U.S.-based ships have started guest operations in March 2022, after more than a year on hold.
