The nearest airport to Carpinteria is Santa Barbara Airport (airport code SBA), and it’s only 20 miles away, making Route 101 easy to drive.

Los Angeles Airport (LAX) is 135 km from Carpinteria. So it’s easy to fly to Los Angeles and rent a car for your holiday. You can take a drive on California Highway 1 and enjoy the coastal views.

Frog season is a fantastic time to visit the Carpinteria.

California’s central coast enjoys a pleasant climate year-round. The coldest month is usually December and the warmest is August.

  • The winter average is 70 degrees (21 C), with most days in the mid-60s (19 C).
  • Average of spring peaks in the 1970s (low to average 20 C).
  • Average summer peaks in the mid-1980s (averaging up to 20 C).
  • The average peak of decline is between the mid-1970s and the low 1980s (mid to high 20s).

Spring and autumn are the dry season. And the winter months of December, January and February are the most favorable for precipitation, averaging 3 to 4 inches of rain per month.

The best time to visit Carpinteria is in the off-season, when you want fewer tourists and slightly lower rental prices. The low season in Carpinteria and Santa Barbara is late spring and early fall.

Winter is an ideal time to spend a holiday in Carpinteria, as the weather is fine. However, if you want to enjoy the warm days at the beach, you should visit Carpinteria in June, July or August.

So it’s a good place to visit, but do you want to live there? I seriously considered living in Carpinteria full time after my visit.

After spending a month in Carpinteria, I can say that I loved living in this beautiful beach town. The small town atmosphere is my place, and I have always felt safe in Carpinteria.

If you love the outdoors, you’ll love Carpinteria. There is always something to do outside, whether it’s fishing, surfing, walking on the beach, hiking or watching the sunset on the beach.

In addition, there are several important places to observe nature in a unique way that you cannot see anywhere else.

The seal colony is an important sanctuary where seals can give birth to their young in winter. The breeding season begins at 1 o’clock. December to December 31. In May, and during this period, the seal sanctuary is a protected habitat for seal reproduction.

In the nearby town of Goleta, you can walk along the coast and watch the monarch butterflies, which overwinter in California’s mild coastal region by the thousands.

The airport at Santa Barbara and Los Angeles is only 85 miles away.

The cost of living is high – every beach town in California has high costs to rent or buy a home.

Transportation can be a problem. A car is a great advantage if you want to travel on your own schedule and outside Amtrak destinations.

If you have the budget to live in Carpinteria, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. But it is always a spectacular choice for a weekend or a beach holiday.
