It’s a major boost for Galveston, which saw over 168,000 cruise passengers leave the port between July and September.

“We are delighted to welcome Adventure of the Seas to her new home in Galveston, the fourth most popular cruise port in the United States and Texas’ sole cruise port,” said Rodger Rees, Galveston port director and CEO. “Providing cruise passengers with more sailing alternatives is one of the reasons why our port continues to attract over a million passengers each year from Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and beyond.”

The four-day cruises will stop solely at Cozumel, with a day at sea on each end to enable passengers to take advantage of everything the Voyager-class ship has to offer. The five-day cruises will stop at Cozumel and Costa Maya at first, but from December onwards, Costa Maya will be replaced with Progreso.

Guests may now pick from cruises lasting 4-5 or 7 days. The Liberty of the Seas also departs from Galveston for cruises to Cozumel, Roatan, and the Costa Maya.

Adventure of the Seas has a new homeport.

Many may remember that the Adventure of the Seas was the first Royal Caribbean ship to travel from Nassau to the Caribbean and the Western Hemisphere earlier this year. On June 13, 2021, a total of 1000 passengers boarded the boat.

Royal Caribbean’s return to operations has been a total success, with majority of the cruise line’s ships currently running after a tremendously successful season of sailings from the Bahamas.
